100 Stories Before School
Literacy Calendar .
World Read Aloud Day – Australian stories.
World Read Aloud Day is today, March 4th.
We thought we would like to share some stories from our 100 Stories Before School list, especially some Australian stories. We have taken the World Read Aloud categories of Belonging, Curiosity,Hope, Friendship,Kindness,Courage and Confidence and found a lovely range of stories to share- including your own photo albums.
Many of the stories could belong in more than one category.
You don’t always need a special day to read aloud- have a look at some of these stories to read when you are thinking of those special qualities- such as kindness and courage.
Download our World Read Aloud Day 2- page booklist for Australian families here .It may take a little while to show on this page and download as it is in colour.
If you want to put Read Aloud Day in your calendar for next year, have a look at their website.

World Read Aloud Day motivates children, teens, and adults worldwide to celebrate the power of words, especially those words that are shared from one person to another, and creates a community of readers advocating for every child’s right to a safe education and access to books and technology.”
