  • And now we’re heading off to bed with a very special book for younger children, which our 100 stories kangaroo has already had fun with.

100 stories kangaroo reading torchlight

Nighttime Nursery Rhymes, A bedtime shadow book.

Compiled by Barbara Paulding, illustrated by Martha Day Zschock. Peter Pauper Press

We bought this book at the Metropolitan Museum Of Art Store at Sydney Domestic Airport Shop. It’s also available online.

Imagine the magic of shining a torch through the pictures in the book as you read the nursery rhymes aloud. You’ll see the pictures up on your wall.Maybe you can  make some shapes yourself to add to the nursery rhymes.Just right for the theme of light.

The publishers have a number of other torch light books including The Night Before Christmas, Nighttime Fairies and Up,Up and Away (Space theme).

We’ll be posting on another clever book to do with light in our next post. It’s one you can read from the front, or back, of the book. Two different stories!
