This weekend, in Australia, we celebrate Mother’s (and Grandmothers) day.

Why not share our own mother’s stories, as well as books from our booklist?

How many of us talk to our children- and tell them stories about our mothers,(or ourselves) when we were younger?

Or ask our mothers to share their stories on SKYPE or facetime?

We can tell lots of stories from our photo albums, looking at pictures of our mothers or ourselves.

picture story wall 2

Tell your children stories about when you were young.

It’s really quite sad that so many photos are now on computers and hard to find or look at easily.

In our house we have a picture wall, which is really a story wall.

We talk often to  family members about the stories behind the pictures .

Home made photo books for gifts

You can make simple photo books with kids using kitchen equipment like paper or plastic bags. Find step by step instructions in these posts.

If you see your mother, take some photos on your phone to make a story from them for your children.

This is our family first Mother’s day without my Mother.

We’ll be remembering her by sharing stories with much love.
